The purpose of the paper is to illustrate the impact of organisations’ globalisation processes on their organisational cultures and vice versa. Organisational culture is a key business driver, which may support or hinder an organisation’s globalisation process. Based on long-term consulting experience the interdependence between organisational culture and successful globalisation is depicted on three levels and respective examples, i. e. Individual, Team, and Organisational level.

Findings clearly lay out the inextricable link among the three levels; i. e. individual expatriates need full support from organisational systems, and in turn have a strong impact on their teams on behalf of values and norms. At the same time, the organisation needs to provide ample resources for its multicultural teams in order to allow them to work effectively and efficiently. On an organisational level management needs to take on the role of change agents, whose responsibility it is to communicate and support the aspired change towards a more global organisation.

Irrespective of industries organisations experience similar phenomena during a globalisation process. The article will add value to the reader by illustrating these phenomena and by respective recommendations what can be done to manage the situation effectively.
