The Conference Dinner Venue

The Medici's Villa, La Ferdinanda
Near the medieval village of Artimino there is the Medici's villa 'The Ferdinanda' (or villa of 'one hundred chimneys' because of a series of chimneys with different form and shapes). The building was the residence of Ferdinando I°, Grand Duke of Tuscany, who committed the project to Bernando Buontalenti, architect of court, in 1596. Completed in 1600, the residence is characterised by its simplicity and elegance: it an unmistakable tone, typical of the Florentine Renaissance.

The Museo Archeologico Comunale di Artimino is housed in the basement of the villa. The museum was opened in 1983 to house the numerous archaeological finds of the territory of Carmignano - concerning most of all the occupation of the area during the Etruscan Age - recovered following the surveys carried out mainly by the Archaeological Superintendence of Tuscany throughout the last thirty years.
